Spiritual and pastoral care, and advocates

Learn more about the help available to you, including with advocacy services and spiritual support when you need them.

Advocates are independent from the Trust. They can speak up for you and help you to speak for yourself about your care and treatment.

Advocates are people who can speak up for you and help you to speak up for yourself about your care and treatment:

  • They can help you understand your rights and support you if you have concerns about your treatment
  • They can represent you at meetings, making sure that your point of view is put across
  • They can help you to write letters or emails.

Their services are:

  • Completely confidential
  • Free of charge.

We offer advocacy services for patients in hospital (inpatients), in the community and for older people.

West London Forensic Services

Please ask ward staff for details of advocacy support.

Our spiritual and pastoral care team provides support, guidance and opportunities for worship for patients, carers and staff, whatever your religious beliefs.

Spiritual care can help you in facing and coping with the doubts, anxieties and questions which often accompany ill health and suffering.

Your spiritual needs

Our chaplains are trained to support the needs of people of different faiths, different denominations and no particular faith.

We can help meet your religious needs while you’re in hospital (inpatient unit) and can invite a leader from your faith community to visit you if you wish.

Find out how our spiritual and pastoral care team can help you by speaking to ward staff or by calling 020 8354 8864.
