We monitor our performance on a continuous basis – on our quality of care, our finances and our governance. This happens at different levels, from the Trust Board to the services we provide.

Quality priorities

Our quality priorities help us to improve our standards and provide better care. The Trust board monitors our performance to:   

  • Be proactive in monitoring the physical health care of service users and respond appropriately when a risk is identified
  • Monitor closely the psychological state and physical health care of any patient who receives medication in an emergency (rapid tranquillisation) to keep them free from harm
  • Ensure all staff are supported with good quality supervision that promotes high quality, individual care based on recovery principles and supports professional development
  • Measure the effectiveness of treatment against clearly defined outcome measures
  • Create clearly defined care pathways that ensure service users can access the support they need, in an appropriate setting, without unnecessary delay, with seamless transfers across services
  • Use the Triangle of Care to improve the inclusion of carers
  • Work collaboratively with those who use our services to reduce the use of restrictive interventions, including physical restraint, seclusion and long-term segregation.
