These social communication workshops are facilitated by speech and language therapists and the Early Start special educational needs and disability (SEND) and Inclusion Team.

They are suitable for parents who:

  • Are waiting for speech language therapy and a child development team assessment
  • Are concerned about their child’s social and communication skills
  • Have not completed the EarlyBird training to support a child recently diagnosed with autism - the EarlyBird programme is for parents whose child has received a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder and is aged under 5 years
  • Want practical advice to support their child’s communication skills, sleeping, eating, and toileting.
